Open Enrollment Starts Nov. 1, What Does That Mean for New Customers?

You’ve probably heard by now, Open Enrollment for 2022 health insurance is underway! But if you’re one of the many Idahoans who have found themselves without coverage in 2021, it can be an overwhelming experience trying to weigh the options. Your Health Idaho is here to help.

What is Open Enrollment?

Open Enrollment, which takes place Monday, Nov. 1, through Wednesday, Dec. 15, is when individuals and families can enroll in a health insurance plan through Your Health Idaho. It is the only time of year potential customers can enroll without a Qualifying Life Event (QLE), like getting married or having a baby.

During the open enrollment period, first-time customers can browse YHI plans anonymously, create an account, apply for financial assistance, and enroll in a plan for 2022.

Why Enroll with Your Health Idaho?

Your Health Idaho is the only place where Idahoans can receive a health insurance tax credit, which acts like an instant discount, to reduce the cost of monthly premiums, and this year with enhanced subsidies, more Idahoans are seeing significant savings. Individuals and families who fall within a certain income range may also qualify for cost-sharing reductions that help pay for out-of-pocket costs like co-pays and deductibles.
