Anonymous Shopping Runs October 1–14
It’s that time of year again. The leaves are falling, the days are getting shorter, and Open Enrollment for health insurance is just around the corner. While it may seem daunting to sift through plans to find the perfect fit, Your Health Idaho’s Anonymous Shopping makes it easy.
Anonymous Shopping is just that, anonymous. From October 1 to October 14, you can visit YourHealthIdaho.org without having an account or filling out an application, and check out the updated health insurance plans being offered for next year by well-known insurance companies.
Step One: Enter Your Information
Just enter your zip code, birthday, and the number of people in your household. Then you can view all the plans available in your area. If you enter your household income, you can also find out if you qualify for an Advance Premium Tax Credit (APTC), which acts as an instant discount to cover some or all the monthly costs for health insurance.
Eligibility for Cost-Share Reductions (CSRs)
After filling out the basic information, you’ll have the option to provide more specific details about your healthcare needs including preferred clinics or physicians, how many times you visit the doctor each year, and any ongoing prescriptions. Providing this information will allow you to see if the plan you’re considering covers your doctors and prescriptions.
Step Two: Filter Your Options
You have the option to sort plans by type, metal tier (gold, silver, or bronze), deductible, health insurance company, and plan features. This makes it easy to view plans in your price range from all companies, or a specific company you’re already familiar with. You can then sort plans by expense estimate, monthly premium, deductible, or out-of-pocket cost.
Step Three: Compare Plans
Once you’ve filtered your health insurance plans, you have the option to compare up to three of them side by side. The comparison will give you a summary of coverage, along with details about each plan (deductibles, co-pays, provider networks, monthly premiums), so you can make an informed decision.
If you feel overwhelmed by the whole process, help is available. Your Health Idaho-certified agents and brokers can provide assistance at no cost to you. You can find a local expert here. You can also call our Customer Support center at 855-944-3246.
