A couple in an office getting health insurance advice from certified agents and brokers.

Health insurance can be complicated. There are plans to compare, terms to learn, and deadlines to track. If you have ever felt overwhelmed by the process, you are not alone. Fortunately, you do not have to navigate the health insurance landscape by yourself.

Your Health Idaho works with Certified Agents and Brokers that are licensed, certified by Your Health Idaho, and in good standing with the Idaho Department of Insurance. They are local experts who provide one-on-one assistance to Idahoans who are enrolling in or renewing their health coverage at no cost.

What Certified Agents and Brokers Can Do for You

Our Certified Agents and Brokers are trained professionals who understand the ins and outs of Your Health Idaho and health insurance.

Certified Agents and Brokers can:

  • Walk you through the application process from start to finish
  • Help you apply for a tax credit to lower your monthly premium
  • Compare plans side by side so you can see your options clearly
  • Provide guidance on what plan is most cost-effective for you and your situation
  • Assist you in determining your eligibility for Cost-Sharing Reductions, which lowers out-of-pocket costs for things like co-pays and prescriptions
  • Answer any questions you have regarding your health insurance
  • Help you report changes to your account, such as a new address, a new family member, or a change in income
  • Send you communications about important dates and changes

Enrollment Counselors are also available to assist. Although enrollment counselors can help you with the application process and applying for a tax credit, they can’t make recommendations about which plan to buy because they’re not licensed with the Department of Insurance. If you’re working with an enrollment counselor, they’ll refer you to an agent or broker when it’s time to select a plan.
